Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology News – “Peering into Subcellular Domains”

Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and mode synthesizing AFM (MSAFM) provide a powerful means to probe the subtleties of solid surfaces to show material characterization over a wide frequency range.  It can provide a wealth of information on the physical properties of the surface and subsurface of materials such as plant cell walls.  Laurene Tetard is utilizing MSAFM on plant systems as an important tool showing the multimodal platform for nanoscale spatial resolution of complex materials in plants.
